Serving San Diego, California, since 1991, John Rubin has been providing professional dog training services and has helped tens of thousands of satisfied clients and their dogs. He pioneered the "natural approach" to dog obedience training and set the standards that many of San Diego's best dog trainers use today. JNDTC's unique approach to teaching you, and your dog or puppy, without using fear, pain compliance or food-based training methods, ensures positive results, a confident dog and a life-long rewarding relationship with your companion. We teach you to understand how your dog thinks, learns and communicates by helping you to understand the psychology of your canine. Become a dog whisperer to your K9 companion!

John Rubin "John the Dog Trainer"

John Rubin has been training dogs for over 20 years and has extensive equine experience as well. His background includes his start at an Indiana Animal Shelter and evenutally studying under Pat Parelli's Natural Horsemanship program which led him to develop his unique dog training methods. Pat educates his clients about "horsinality". John and his trainers educate their clients about "K9-ality".

As each dog has it's own temperament as well as emotional and physical needs, their instinctual "drives" often define their "K9-ality". John and his trainers help you to learn the psychology of your K9 so you can better understand what is needed to aid you and your dog in the training and bonding process.

John's years of hands on work with all breeds and temperaments is a testament to his commitment to dogs and their people. He has gained the respect of many reputable veterinarians and their staff, breeders, shelters and rescue organizations as well as countless others in the community putting him at the top of his industry.

John has been a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator with the AKC for long as the program has been in existence. John and his dogs have dedicated innumerable hours to community service including reading programs for grade school children, visiting children with autism, and adults in behavioral health centers including veterans. John has been extensively involved with helping high school students obtain national certifications as canine handlers.

He is an expert in formal obedience and has not only obtained AKC Obedience Titles for his own dogs, he has also helped dozens of clients receive theirs as well.

John has trained an expert staff to help him in working with aggressive and behaviorally challenged dogs that others could or would not help. Many desperate dog owners, including those with puppies and rescues alike, have turned to John over the years for his unique understanding of canine behavior. His methods in psychological rehabilitation have kept numerous owners from having to re-home their dogs.

John Rubin is currently the CEO and President of Natural Pet Systems Inc., Director of Training with John’s Natural Dog Training Company and COO of Big Dog Ventures Inc. He is the proud owner of two German Shepherd Dogs, Lefty and Triumph as well as a Karelian Bear Dog named Dupree.
