New Class starting 2008!

Learn the skills necessary to start your career as a professional dog training group class instructor. John Rubin, San Diego's premier dog trainer will be instructing this class to teach you what he knows best - John Knows Dogs!

This 30 hour course meets once a week for 3 hours and includes:

• 4 weeks of classroom instruction
• 6 weeks of hands-on handling and training instruction

The course is a combination of lecture, video, demonstration, discussion, communication skills, role-playing and hands-on training of dogs.

Dog Trainer Course Outline

• Introduction to Dog Psychology

• Understanding Learning Theories

• Body Language and Vocal Tone

• Physiology relating to dog health and well-being

• Basics in Nutrition and Grooming

• Breed Recognition and characteristics relevant to training

• Obedience - basic and formal

• Problem solving

• Behavior modification

• Understanding training equipment, application and usage

• Teaching and Communication skills

Tuition

• $3500 for the 10 week course

• $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your space and is included as partial tuition, remainder of the balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the class.

Additional

• Class size is limited to 8 students.

• Pre-requisite reading is required.

• Required participation/attendance to any of our one hour group classes twice a week.  Additional attendance is encouraged but not required.
