There's no doubt that our Private In-Home Training Program is the best way to
go. You and your dog can learn in your own environment so that issues you might
be having at home can be quickly and easily resolved. Your dog can begin
learning without distractions though they will eventually be incorporated into
the training process. You set the schedule and work at your own pace. We can
customize this program for you as needed. The best part is that when you sign-up
for private training you and your dog are able to attend all levels of group
obedience class as long as you want or need them. We offer Active Duty Military
discounts as well as multi-dog discounts. Please call for more information -

Mostly because you are not speaking a "language" your puppy or dog can truly
understand. Or, it might be your dog has learned to ignore you. Clear
communication with a canine is something humans must be taught. Body language,
vocal tone - these are examples of how a dog communicates. Sometimes our body
language and vocal tone are not understood by our dogs and sometimes we come in
loud and clear - more threatening than inviting. We can help you understand how
your dog thinks and learns. We also suggest you read the article "How Dog's
Learn" located on this website.

Most owners have the highest
expectations, with the least understanding, when it comes to teaching their dogs
how to go to the bathroom outside, while on a walk or in a designated area.
To really establish how you are
going to accomplish this daunting task, you must determine these three things;
-
Where will the puppy sleep at
night
-
Where will the puppy stay
during the day or when you are not there
-
Where will your puppy be when
you are home
Crate-training is the
simplest and most effective way I know of to housebreak your puppy or older dog.
However, not all puppies take to the crate. You can still effectively housebreak
your dog without one. Installing a doggie door can oftentimes solve many
housebreaking issues.
Dogs must eliminate and
puppies more often than older dogs because of more food intake with less control
of their bodily functions. Dogs do not come into the home automatically knowing
that the bathroom is outside or, if necessary, on paper or a pad. Teaching your
puppy or dog to hold it’s bladder and bowels requires you to utilize it’s
natural instincts. Teaching it how to let you know when it must go outside is
hit-and-miss. Since many young dogs have not learned how to let you know, close
supervision is necessary.
